Packing Basics


  • Limit cartons to a maximum weight of 50 pounds
  • Wrap items carefully
  • Provide plenty of cushioning
  • Use only sturdy cartons that
    can be securely shut
   

Boxes

No matter what you're trying to pack, North American Van Lines has the box. As you can see below, our boxes come in all different strengths and sizes to help ensure safe and efficient moving. Your local North American Van Lines agent will recommend the appropriate cartons for your moving needs.


  1. 1.5 Cu. Ft. Carton – Small moving carton for heavy items, such as books and records.
  2. 3.1 Cu. Ft. Carton - Medium utility carton often used for pots and pans, toys, etc.
  3. Mirror Carton - Several sizes of telescoping moving cartons to fit almost any picture, mirror, or glass.
  4. Mattress Carton - Available in queen/king, double, single (twin), and crib. One each is needed for moving mattress and box springs.
  5. Dishpack (or "China Barrel") - Heavy-duty carton used for moving china and dishes, crystal and glassware, and other fragile items.
  6. Wardrobe Carton - A "portable closet" that keeps clothes hanging while moving.
  7. 6.0 Cu. Ft. Carton – For moving large bulky articles, such as pillows or large lampshades.
  8. 4.5 Cu. Ft. Carton - For moving bulky items, such as linens, towels, or toys.
